Theatre is for Everyone: An Introduction

Ever since I was little, I have loved watching live theatre productions. I'm so grateful to my mom who would take my brother and I to productions of Annie, The Sound of Music, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, or whatever was playing at a local theatre near us.
This hobby continued to grow as I got into high school and college where I started to perform in theatre productions. Today, I continue to be an avid theatergoer (with an occasional onstage performance).

Because I go to shows frequently I will often nudge my friends to go with me. Despite my invitations, some of my friends believe that going to the theatre is just not for them. I completely disagree with that, which is why I created this blog.
Throughout this blog I will be covering these areas:
  • Show Reviews: Through reviewing specific shows I hope to relate why it’s important to watch theatre, lessons you learn from theatre shows, and how theatre relates to people’s lives.
  • Finding Shows for You: People always say that watching theatre shows is not for them. Through exploring different categories of musicals and showcasing specific composers, I hope people will find that there is a type of theatre show for everyone.
  • Theatre in Mainstream Media: There are a number of current and past Broadway actors who star in hit TV shows/series (Sutton Foster, Uzo Aduba, etc.) and who are at the top of the music charts (Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, etc.) who you probably didn't know starred on Broadway. Odds are if you like them on TV shows and on the radio, you'll probably love their past and/or present theatrical roles.
If there is anything you would like to me to talk about throughout my blog that is not currently on my list, make sure to comment about it below.
